Some days, your baby just needs to be close. Not in a swing, not in a bouncer - but close to you, feeling held.
The Mabē Monarch Baby Carrier Collection is designed for exactly those days, and all the ones that follow. It carries your baby from 9 to 45 lbs across three positions: front facing in, front facing outward, and back carry. The seat adjusts to keep their hips in the M-position, knees higher than their bottom, which supports healthy hip development as they grow.
Made from ASTM and CPSIA-certified materials and independently lab-tested, the Monarch is sized for every body (from size 0-24, XS to 3XL) with fully adjustable straps that distribute weight across your hips and shoulders rather than concentrating it in one place. It's also machine washable because life happens - these are purpose-built for daily use.
FAQs
How do I know which carrying position to use?
The Monarch offers three carrying positions.
Front facing inward works for all ages and is ideal for newborns, naps, and any time your baby wants to be close.
Front facing outward is best for babies who can sit independently and want to see the world. Keep sessions shorter in this position, and always turn baby inward if they fall asleep.
Back carry is great for babies 6 months and older who have full head and neck control, and it frees up your hands for longer outings.
When can I start using the Monarch Baby Carrier?
The Monarch fits babies from 9 lbs, with no minimum age requirement. The key is fit, not age. Your baby is ready to use the carrier when their nose is visible above the panel and you can maintain a clear airway. If you're unsure about fit, Mabē's certified babywearing consultant offers free fit consultations to walk you through it.
Is the Monarch Baby Carrier safe?
Yes. The Monarch is tested to ASTM F2236-24, the current U.S. safety standard for soft structured infant carriers, and is CPSIA and CPSC compliant, meeting requirements including 16 CFR 1226.
Each production run is independently tested by accredited labs including AM Testing and Intertek. The carrier is also designed in alignment with hip-healthy M-position guidelines, which support healthy hip development. As with any carrier, safe babywearing depends on correct positioning — Mabē offers free consultations with a certified babywearing educator to ensure your fit is right.
Does the Monarch Baby Carrier fit plus-size parents?
Yes. The Monarch is designed to fit body sizes 0-24 (XS through 3XL). The waistband and shoulder straps are fully adjustable, and the carrier is built to distribute weight comfortably across different body types. If you have questions about fit for your specific size, Mabē's free fit consultations are a great starting point.
How do I wash the Monarch Baby Carrier?
Machine wash on a cold, delicate cycle. Use a garment bag to protect the hardware finishings for a longer effective lifespan. Lay flat to dry by opening the head support flap and allow to dry fully in a well-ventilated area before use. Do not tumble dry.
